Gra comes up every year so be prepared that it might not come up this year. Fearg is due to come up my teacher said and eagla. Good luck!

Well, you can probably twist nearly any theme to suit one of your studied poems. But I'd say have two or three sample answers learned off. Grá and Fearg are regular appearances.

id say have a good luck at the new sample paper that the department of ed. sent out because my teacher said that because teachers are so mad about them changing the paper they may give nearly the same paper so make sure you're covered for a couple of them. Im doing two poems "Na blatha craige" and "Chlaon me mo cheann" I have about 9 themes in total between them so i think im sorted :)

how many points do you all generally give when answering the poetry questions? I try to give 2 for where the theme or feeling is found in the poem, then two examples of poetic techniques. Should that be enough?

I would recommend doing Subh Milis, as that covers a fair few themes, and it's a very easy poem.

I have subh milis done, but I can't ever seem to write much? I know it covers a lot of themes but I can't seem to get more than 3 points out of it.

An Tigh Nua by Séan Mac Fheorais is a handy one to have, it covers grá (as in familial and marraige), áthas and brón, uaigneas, an teaghlach etc. etc.

I've also studied Fear Lasta Lampaí as a backup, but I don't plan to use it.

on the subject of the sceal, An Gadaí covers most themes. If in doubt, have Díoltas An Madra Rua. Thing is though, you'd probably get through an exam with one poem and one story if you know how to apply it.

That's what I'm hoping to do: I'll know 1 poem and 1 story very well and 1 or 2 back-up poems (not as well) and 1 or 2 back-up stories (again, not as well).
