Stupid question to most but serious to me...

How to clean and wax a car....

I clean my car and 15min later there is a coat of dust on it.... This is what i do.

I have orange cleaner. I mix it one to eight in a bucket and drop in the soap end of the pressure washer.

I then spray the car, use the brush to scrub it then spray it again. Then I risnse it all off. 15min later I have dust... what am i doing wrong.

    Thanks for advice.

I ideally want to clean it and wax it/t cut it occasionally.

get yourself a good leather chammy and dry the car off afterwards. Will help a lot.

 are you talking about the dust from the wax when it dries up,or the dust that the wind blows up?

Yes, and it should greatly reduce dust adhering in the first place

Turtle Wax do a new spray product called Ice Spray Detailer, it will help you a lot. Costs between €9-€11 and is really easy to use (which is unusual for wax products). Give it a go.

wow what part of dublin do you live in?

    When i wash my car.

I would start with a bucket of water and good sponge and then i have two buckets of suds and follow that with two buckets of water.

I wax half the car and rub it all off and do the other side. Then i buff up the alloys.

I did mine today and its glowing outside :)

Erm....unless I'm missing something I don't believe Joey the Lips said he was from Dublin. Although many posters on boards are from Dublin I do believe people from other parts of the country use the forum also.

I use tango from autosmart. Wash as normal an rinse off spray the tango all over car except windscreen;). Get a sponge spray some tango on and sponge all the car including plastics. Blast it off with water and hey presto the car looks as if its got a good waxing..

Definitely dry the car after washing, then use something like Autoglym Aqua wax. The reason I suggest the Aqua Wax is because it is easy to apply & it is possible tondo it after every wash.
It's not a substitute for a prope. Wax though.

Wash it then wrap it in cling film. That will stop the dust landing on it. Then just wash the dust off the cling film
