Back trouble

I have been experiencing some back problems recently (after a snowboarding trip) Anyhow my golf work rate has really gone up as I am being coached by a Titelist TPi instructor and we are working on a few swing changes. I work on stretching and core strength at home as part of my TPI.

I have seen a chiropractor and he didn't really help. I would like to see a physiotherapist and if I could find one that deals with sports injuries the better.

Any recommendations? Preferably south side of the city.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Stebed,

What showed up on your TPI screen? Mobility issues should be cleared up before you start the strength side of things.
Hypothetically If you failed lower quarter rotation (hip mobility) or Trunk Rotation then these should be your main areas that you target initially before moving on to the core work.

It is very difficult for you to get the best out of your training program if your injured.

Which TPI Instructor is looking after you? Might be worth asking him for a referral to someone he/she trusts. Or look for a TPI Certified Medical Professional

    Good Luck

My TPi instructor is the man himself JK. We have discussed it with him but at the time I was seeing the back doc. My flexibility is a little restricted when my hips are isolated but not as much as they were. I would just like to get someone to iron out all the knots, I will check the TPi website for TPi physios.

John believes a stronger core will help with this as I have a poor non golfing posture. Stronger abs and glutes more flexible hip flexors

    Thanks

No better man than JK, one of the most experienced TPI Instructors in the country.

Hope you get the back sorted

    Good Luck

    Golfchiro,

Are you a chiropractor? where are you based? maybe I should come and see you for a professional opinion. John has also been looking for a chiropractor that he can recommend to students.

    Hey Stephen,

Ya I'm a Sports Chiropractor based in Portlaoise, and also spend 15 weeks a year on the tour treating professional golfers.

I know JK well from the Titleist Performance Institute Medical Seminars.

    All the best
