Robben injured himself against Hungary (6-1) this afternoon.
Tomorrow a scan will be made of the hamstring he injured but it doesnt look good.

Next big name to be out of the WC?

(could post a link here but it is a dutch website..)

It's not the end of the world, very disappointing though. Plenty of other options on the wing that can perform for them.

He must be sick, especially the way it happened.

I thought Kuyt/Van der Wiel worked great in the 1st half.
2nd half was a joke really.

Van Bronckhorst told it like it was: We want to go to the WC, Hungary wanted to go to the beach.

Holland has no problem to fill a gap in attack if one of them gets injured, so many options. Defence is another story.

I was gonna back the Dutch e/w for the WC.

Will swerve it if Robben is out

None anywhere near as good as Robben though. He's one of the best wingers in the world and Holland need him fit and at his best if they're to do much in the WC imo.

It's not the worst seeing as the player coming in to the starting 11 will most likely be Van der Vaart (though he's obviously not as good on the wing) with Kuyt maintaining his place on the right. They also have Elia and Affelay who can play there.

Ah for **** sake... I was hoping to see the fab four play together at some point. They don't normally all take to the field at the same time, but they have done once or twice and looked absolutely devastating (remember the 30 minutes against France in 2008?). It will be a real shame if Robben misses out.

With or without him, based on the form they have going into the wc im still strongly considering sticking a tenner on them anyway.

The big names are dropping like flies.

Hopefully it's only a small tear in the hamstring if anything for Robben. He could miss all the group games but could be back for the knockout rounds with a bit of a luck.
