Every time a new version of the iPhone SDK is released, it seems to only work on the latest version of OS X Leopard / Snow Leopard...

If you don't want to (or can't) upgrade your version of OS X, can you still use the older versions of the SDK to develop your apps (and still be able to submit them to Apple, etc.)?

Hey, I believe you can, you just don't have access to the new APIs that go with the iOS upgrade

New apps submitted to Apple have to be built using the 4.0 SDK, though you can of course still target 3.x devices.

I was looking at trying my hand ad developing iPhone app's using on windows using DragonfireSDK. However if Apple are being this sticky with people who have actually gone to the trouble of buying macs I am guessing there is plenty of issues with developing for the latest iPhones from DragonfireSDK too.

Anyone have any experience in this?
