theres no point is sending a skeleton to the factory. put her out to grass for a while, build up some weight and you can get decent money for them.

I sent 6 to the factory on Monday and got €850 apiece for them, i was happy with the money as they were the worst of my herd, i'm cutting back to 20 cows.
i had them on nuts for 7 weeks building it up to 4kgs a head for a finish.
the best made short of a grand and the worst around €750.

i think my da sees it as a challenge to fatten the worst screws around:rolleyes: the agent that brings our cows to the factory says they kill out better if dry for a while but on the other hand says not to waste your meal feeding them ... he also says sure havent you got loads of milk and calves off them during the years and you still want top dollar when they go to the factory:mad:
