    Hi,

I got a new tv for my bedroom and currently am only watching dvd's on it as I cannot locate any of the 'free' channels, rte 1, network 2, tv 3 etc. Do I need an aereal/cable to get them?

Can anyone advise how I get these channels without having to get another NTL box thus increasing my already large premium.

    Thanking you in advance
    Niamh

Aerial on roof for Irish channels.
Which particular aerial, how big it is and where it's pointed depends on your location.

"freesat" logo set box and 60cm to 80cm dish for 200+ free UK inc all BBC TV & Radio, ITV, C4 and Five. This can easily be expanded to feed all the TVs

An aeriel on a roof, serious?! That seems like a lot of effort..... I live in an apartment and would have no access to the roof.

If I got one of those cable things that plug in to the wall and the tv would that not work....?? See image attached

or put the aerial beside a window in your apartment facing the dublin mountains to receive the tv channels

Do you have rabbits ears (an indoor aeriel)? What type of TV did you get (Make/Model)? Where are you based?

If you don't have any type of aerial then you will receive no signal. You need to get the rabbits ears...Will cost you about 20 euro...

Talk to Apartment Management. usually you have to pay to have the wall socket activated.

    OR
Any aerial similar to this on windowsill (Less than 10 Euro)

Available in Maplin Jervais St or Blanchardstown and many other Electrical shops

Does your bedroom have a tv point socket? If so buy one of those cables (very cheap) and try it out.

As you say you already have an ntl box in the living room, if there is a socket in the bedroom it may have the analogue channels.
