My other half wants to take her two young nieces down to Kerry for possibly the August Bank Holiday weekend. No exact destination yet but the two girls are almost 2 and almost 5 so can anyone recommend some suitable places to bring them?

Is fungi still alive? Does Dingle have anything else to offer kids? Any other itinerary ideas?

Yes Fungie still lives. The Aquarium is excellent. Ventry beach is sandy and safe. Murphy's Ice-cream is divine, but somewhat expensive for kids.
Personally, I'd prefer to stay back west or out a little bit from the town than in the town proper as it can get a bit noisy on bank holidays.

Kennedy's pet farm just outside Killarney approx 6 miles on the Cork road, great place to spend a day if the kids like animals.
