    HI all,

we're fitting a shower tray to a timber plinth, what would be the best material to bed the shower tray onto the plinth - I have marine ply timber for the plinth, will tile adhesive do the job?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

The correct way to bed a shower tray is with sand and cement but i dont see it done often. As you say a good flex tile adhesive on the wooden plint should be fine. Just make sure the wood is as rigid as possible.

Another idea might be to use a mosaic underneath incase you need to get in at a future date.

I'd recommend putting classi seal around the shower too. Not cheap, but definitely worth it in the long run

+2 However if you buy an upstand tray you dont need classi seal.

Classi seal is the dogs and you only put it on the edges touching the wall. You do not breal the line you run it constantly from one corner to another.
