does your calculator do anything special that might put you at an advantage like solving equations?

Your calculator is just a basic scientific calculator so yes, it will be allowed!

Yea its fine.. My teacher told me the calculator isnt a huge thing anyway and that she has corrected JC exams without people specifying what calculator they have used etc... Just if the superintendent wanted to check your calculator and found it had memory saving or solved equations or something, then they'll confiscate it.

My calculators got stolen 3 times this year. I always left it in my bag, but it always went missing. I'm absolutely sure I have never 'lost' a calculator. For the last month I've had to carry my calculator in my pocket when I go out to lunch

We got a set of rules for the examinations the other day and they said something about calculators with memory banks being banned, like was said up there ^^^

But if we reset it before we go into the exam and show them that there's nothing saved on it they can't confiscate it, right? Everyone I know has a calculator that stores the calculations you've done

The examiners rarely, if ever, enforce the calculator rule! If it looks like an ordinary one, than use it! :)

If you can't program it, or it doesn't plug into a wall, you can use it.
