Chris Jericho has a new title: game-show host.
The pro wrestler has been tapped to host ABC's upcoming extreme summer series, Downfall, the network announced Thursday.
The six-episode series will test contestants' wits with trivia questions while atop a high-rise building. Contestants must answer all the questions before a large conveyor belt sends potential cash and prizes, contestants' personal possessions, and their friends and family over the side of the building.
Downfall premieres June 22 at 9/8c.

I wonder will we be seeing less of him in WWE if so thats not good :(

WWE can't afford to lose any more main eventers, so i'd say he'll manage to juggle both at the same time.

I doubt it would interfere with his ring work.

I expect that it would be in his contract that any 3rd party obligations have to be first cleared by management and then wwe particiapation takes precedence over these.

I'd say they also film a few episodes at a time, so he'd miss even less time from WWE that way too

He's partly the reason why Raw is good at the moment. No way can they afford to lose him.

It's also being reported that Chris Jericho is expected to take time off after his feud with R-Truth. This may or may not have to do with the announcement that Jericho will be hosting an upcoming game show on ABC.

    Hmmmm.....

I suppose I'm glad for the guy. Firstly, after the business with Greg Helms, I remember hearing a discussion about his workload (which is insane) and how his personal life has gone a bit ropey (being snapped in a cuddle with Kelly Kelly, etc.). Also, of all the 40+ brigade at the top of WWE, he's the one most likely to succeed in the entertainment world outside wrestling - and the one I'd actually consider worth watching. Hopefully this will give him a chance to get things on an even keel while also developing his career.

On a purely selfish level, this blows. Unless we start to see the likes of Punk and R-Truth shine, the second half of 2010 could be very boring.

Compared to a lot of the top guys in WWE Jericho is the one who has the look for doing stuff outside of wrestling. Could you imagine Triple H all bulked up presenting a quiz show?

The voice over sounds alot like Scott Ferrall who has been the ring announcer for a few MMA shows. If WWE or TNA had this guy I would never complain again.

His contract runs out in September so chance he could leave if he gets the position full time.
