His moveset and selling is awesome but I don't see how the guy can get to Rey's level. Rey brings in a lot of money, especially with the Hispanic audience, and I caan't seee Bourne building such a close relationship with the WWE fanbase.
. Their is no shame in that for Bourne, he can still have a good career, but becoming an icon like Rey? :eek:
Don't see it happening sadly.

It doesn't help that he is sounds like a 5 year old when he speaks, Rey and Jeff may be nothing special when they talk, but those guys had the x factor in spades.

I think they would love to position him as such. I think he is a great talent and someone they could push in a similar vein to Rey if they wanted. He's not a guy I can see being a heel in WWE anyway so it will be interesting to see if he can maintain the connection with the audience.

I think he'll have the John Cena little buddy role, which is a pretty good 1 to have.

This. Rey got pushed really hard because WWE were smart enough to see the Hispanic thing, particularly after Eddie's passing, and now he's so beloved by kids that they keep him prominent. That's no slight on his talent - nothing would have happened without that for Rey - but they simply won't have upper-midcard or main eventers jobbing to guys that small unless there's a serious upside.

Bourne has plenty of upside too, but not as high as Mysterio's. Apparently Cena went to bat for the guy, which is great, as he's entertaining to watch. But he'll need to develop as a character if he's going to have a career half as good as the 'biggest little man in the WWE' *cringe*

I think Bourne will be back being an afterthought in the mid card ina amonth's time. if they were serious about this Cena' buddy thing I'd imagine he'd have done a run in when NXT invaded or something.

As for him being the next Rey, I doubt it. He's a beautiful wrestler and has an amzing, unique and varied moveset and he's so graceful in the way he hits his moves and rarely botches anything. But Rey is/was on a different level. Rey has an aura about him that few can match and can legitimately claim to have been the greatest high flyer of all time. He has had a profound influence on wrestlingboth in the US and Mexico. I doubt Bourne, no matter how hard you pushed him, will ever approach the legendary status that Rey has attained in the business.

Personally I prefer Bourne to Mysterio, particularly now. I'd like to see him get the 2nd tier title around his waist, either US or Intercontinental, at least for a while.
