San Francisco city or Berkeley - help us decide!

    Me and 3 other friends just arrived in SF there yesterday and we can't decide which would be the better place to look for an apartment. Some of us think staying in the city centre would be best to get the full SF experience and all that, but I'm leaning towards Berkeley myself, just because from what I've read here and talking to others there's a great atmosphere out there and we'll meet tons of new people.

    Another problem is we're all only 20, so that makes getting into pubs and clubs pretty awkward. We don't exactly want to be stuck inside every night, so that's another reason why I'm thinking Berkeley is the place to go with these frat parties I hear a lot about. But then again I can kind of understand why the others would be a bit iffy about coming all the way out to live in SF and then end up somewhere else.

    What do you think?

    Edit: Never mind, we went with Berkeley in the end :)
