    Hello Good People,

    How are you all keeping?

I'm passing through Westport next Saturday with 22 other people and want to book breakfast in advance and I am hoping to get a good deal given the amount of custom I will be bringing.

    Any sugestions?

    Thank you all
    Jimmy

Super valu do breakfast but cudn't fit that amount of lads.

MAYBE the castlecourt might fit you.

    Thank you Yop.

I was told there is a hotel in the middle of the town on the right as we will drive through. Small reception area and red decour...if all that makes it sound familiar to people, that will serve breakfast but thats all the details I got

In the centre of Westport the following hotels could easily cater for 23, altho sme prior notice if coming after 9 30 or 10 a.m##

    Castlecourt and Plaza Castlebar St
    Clew Bay James St
    Mill Times Mill St
    Wyatt Octagon.

Hotel Westport and Knockranny a bit out from central area.

    Restaurants

O'Cs at Supervalue could handle 23 - tends to be busy on Sat mornings. Some overflow tables outside in fine weather.

    At Westport Quay

    Atlantic Carlton Hotel

    Restaurants

Helm, Asgard - not sure if they would be open before 10 tho.

    Creel

Numerous other restaurants/coffee shops about, but eiither could not cope with 23 walking in, or do not do a breakfast menu.

    Enjoy.

I'd put my recommendation behind The Helm, the Wyatt and The Castlecourt tbh.

    Hi Nuac,

Next Saturday was probably bad wording its this coming Saturday. We are travelling to connemara so which place do you think would be the handiest for a bus to stop without going out of the way. Something I should have mentioned is that we will be stopping for breakfast around 8 or a little after.

None of the restaurants mentioned serving breakfast that early as far as I know.

Best bet is any of the hotels already mentioned. As you will have the bus you can also consider Hotel Westport, Westport Woods, Atlantic Carlton, or Knockranny.

    Enjoy.

I'd still pitch my fork behind The Helm out the Quay to be honest. I personally think no matter what the meal is, they'll facilitate you and will present a good meal at a good price. And you'll get restaraunt quality food, and not hotel quality breakfast.

Hotel breakfast is good, when you are hungover like a donkey and are getting cheap, but I've always found hotel breakfasts anywhere I've been, to be below par. Saying that, the Wyatt do nice lunches, and I'm sure they'd have nice breakfasts also if it pre-arranged.

If you do eventually decide on a place in the town, the driver can double-park, and unload all of ye outside wherever ye are going (most of westport is two-lane, one-way traffic). As for parking for the bus, if you contact the Town Council, they will arrange for the barrier to be temporarily lifted in one of the car parks (most likely, upper mill street car park) for the times you specify.

If you decide on the Quay, where there are a few nice places, including The Atlantic Coast, the Towers, the Helm, the Asgard, and the Creel, then there shouldn't be any problems with parking for the bus.

If ye are just looking for a nice café, there is Mocha Beans which is new, located in the Tesco "Shopping Centre", who do lovely food, would facilitate 25 people in the morning, and you'd never know, they may do a deal which will bring down the price significantly.
