    Hi all,

I have an Ipod classic 80g.

My computer had to be completely wiped and i lost everything my files music everything. I thought that I could just use my ipod to transport my music back onto itunes when i downloaded it again, but when I tried to sync it, there was nothing on my ipod afterwards. I know I've done something wrong, but I don't know what.

When I plug in my ipod the "autoplay" runs and i can see all my songs on that but when that is finished they still don't show on my itunes.

Can anyone please shed some light on this for me, or have I lost all my music forever.

Please help, am totally lost without my music.

    Thanks again

    Hi there..
I had a similiar problem last year when my harddrive on the MacBook fried itself.

If you bought ANY music from iTunes store, they will replace that for you (not widely known!!) Contact customer service at Apple.

Unlike most other players (eg Creative Zen) the iPod will not allow you to transfer OFF the ipod onto either yours or any other computer....

Until now!! There is a program called iPod Rip which will cost you about 20 bucks or so, but more than pays for itself as it will sync your ipod to your computer thus restoring your music.

Certain unscrupulous users MIGHT use this program to perhaps copy music from their friends' Ipods but this is very naughty...You Cant be doin' dat lads!!:D

Hope this is off help..I wish you luck as it was certainly frustrating for me when it happened.

www.getsharepod.com and download the small utility. Connect your iPod and open the software, it will let you copy back anything that is on the iPod to your PC.

If you sync an empty library to your iPod you will wipe it out.

    Cheers
