    Evening folks,

My head is melted doing this so hopefully someone can help.

Firstly I downloaded Switch which kept on crashing. I read somewhere its because of the version of flip for mac Im using. Tried downloading an earlier version but still crashed.

So I moved onto All2MP3. This worked fine for one of the files I was converting but crashed when I tried doing any others.

Can anyone recommend a good free converter programme?

    Thanks for any help.

It cannot convert wma to mp3 (I think).

I've tried pressing play on the wma file but it opens in quick time. And I cannot drop it into the Itunes library.

    ANy other ideas?

you should just be able to drag & drop into the itunes library and it will automatically covert them. Atleast on the pc version it does. Try add them by File>Add folder see if it makes a difference.

Definately cant drag and drop. Could do it with an aiff file but not wma.

Using a mac so dont know if you can do it on pc.

Doesnt recognise them when go File / Add folder.

    Anyone else any ideas?

If they're not protected WMA Files, you should be able to drag them into the itunes Library (with iTunes 9 installed there's a folder in the library on the computer "iTunes\iTunes Music\Automatically Add to iTunes"). It will conver the file and add them to your iTunes library.

If any fail, it creates a folder there saying "not converted" or something similar.

    Did you read my op?

I did this and both failed. Rather than trying them all I'm looking for the name of a good free one. If you know one please do tell

I'll give it a shot later but sounds funny. Why would it convert an aiff thats dragged and dropped but not a wma.

Edit: They definately not copyright protected.

    Hey,

So i just checked and the converter I used is Switch audio converter http://www.nch.com.au/switch/

I've just realised that the version I had was a trial one so If you want it on a permanent basis you may need to buy.

Also ya might find this thread useful: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=65731971
