I'm in the process of erasing the iphone using the menu options. Its a 3gs 32gb with firmware 3.0. So far its taking 45min... I hope its not frozen. What if it is frozen?
I'm read on some forum that it can take 2 hours on a 3g phone ... so I'm going to let it be for 3 hours.

The busy icon appears every now and then...

So has anyone here done it? Any problems? How long did it take? What phone and firmware were you on?

ok - so it didn't work. The reason it didn't work was because it was origionally jailbroken. I eventually got it back to factory settings, but the phone is now at 3.1.3. (but I still have the shsh file with cydia)

    Hey Mixednuts,

I've upgraded my phone (to HTC Desire), so I was looking to put my 3gs (jailbroken) back to factory settings. It was at firmware 3.0 and I was hoping to keep it there, but this didn't work out. What happened is that it froze, due to it being jailbroken.

In the end the person buying it from me wanted the latest firmware anyway; so the job's done.

If i see that the 4GHD is actually the same as the model that was "found" in the bar in California (horrible looking thing), then I might just jump the Apple ship .

Watch this space ...Where is the "HTC Media Device " thread in anyway ?:D
