hardware issue or nothing to worry about ?

    im getting a weird static type noise when powering off the ps3 using the PS3 OS but the weird noise is coming from the TV.

    anyone know what it might be ?

    should mention its a 80GB fat model.. not slim.. bought last augest.

    I assume your using RCA (composite) then?

    TV connection is run by HDMI.

    Hmm, can you try a different cable or composite / component?

    It sounds like a cable / tv issue rather than a PS3 issue

    The only other thing i can try is the standard AV cable.

    on a note... the sound length varies ... sometimes this sound can go on for 2 seconds or sometimes 8 seconds.

    thing is it only ever happens when the ps3 is been powered off and is on the final black screen.

    If it doesn't get worse to the point it messes with the games then im happy.

    What do you think ?

    Have you tried a different cable?

    Different TV?

    Yeah i tried it on the other TV downstairs (LG 42" something) and i didn't hear it at all

    the tv the ps3 is usually set up on is a Philips 28" Widescreen.

    That suggests to me a fault with your 28" TV.

    seems to be fine just only when turning the ps3 off.

    feck it... if its just the TV then i don't really care.... its a bit old now at this stage :pac:
