I got a 59 average in my degree which would normally award me 39 points. However, in the recent one posted here for 2010(http://www.pac.ie/pgdeinfo/PointsCalc.php?inst=pe) it says I get 41 points for this average. Is this information correct or am I stuck with the 39? thanks

Those are the points for 2010 entry.

I would presume that information posted on the PAC website is correct, as it's their website, but if you have a reason to doubt it, they're the ones to get in touch with.

ya thanks, well ya i was thinking i should just get onto them but theyre not open till 9am tomorrow morning! It seems theyre now going up in intervals of 2% as opposed to 2.5%. Maybe they thought it was getting a bit hard to qualify. It seems they made a conscious effort to make it easier. I'll still probably be doing a masters myself to try and qualify so this 2 point difference is pretty vital. I got to get to 49ish cause mine is a business degree as well.

PAC have no way of making it easier or harder. They simply make the points system. Whether they award 50 points or 2000 points for 59% is irrelevant. If it's the latter then over 2000 points will be required for the courses, if its the former then 55 will see you safe. The only thing that matters is how many places the college makes on the course, and if it's say 100 - then it's the first 100 points wise. If they're all on the same points system then it doesn't matter if it's 2, or 2.5 it's going up in. Just matters who has the highest.
