Fresh acne scars

I'm kind of grasping at straws here and was hoping someone with experience/know how might be able to give me some advice- think this is the most appropriate place, as it is appearance related! I did a search and found some info relating to older scarring and hyperpigmentation but nothing relating to new scars.

I recently had an acne breakout on my face, nothing new there, I'm well used to them. What's different this time is two of the large pimples that appeared have now healed up and left two fairly sizeable dents in my face. Not just little surface marks, but full on pock marks that are really noticeable and very hard to cover up with makeup :(

They're still fairly fresh (only a few weeks old) and I was wondering if anyone here could advise me on a way to minimise these marks while they're still relatively new. I know I'm not going to be able to get rid of the actual dents but any tips to reduce their appearance would be welcome- I have some Bio-Oil on hand, has anyone had any luck with fresh acne scars using this? Anything else I could try?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

I have a couple of scars too and I've been using The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil Blemish Fade Lotion. I actually bought it thinking it wouldn't be that great but I've been pleasantly surprised! I've definitely noticed an mprovement over the past month anyway :)

    Hey guys.

I used to have terrible acne when I was teenager all the way upto the age of 21. I ended up on Roaccutane and it did clear my acne (however I regret the day I ever went on it because it messed up my mind and personality so much I would actually prefer to be the old me with acne, but thats another story).

Anyway in relation to acne scars.

The first thing to notice is the redness of acne scars will go away on its own after around 4/6 months. Indented scars will improve somewhat but will never completley heal on their own - I think these are the ones you are referring to.

After my acne went I was left with a lot of scars on my back, I waited 6 months in the hope that they would fade naturally, and Im sorry to say I only seen around 10% improvement so I trawled the internet and tried a million and one products and actually spent about €20,000 on various treatements (NONE OF WHICH WORKED AT ALL)

    UNTIL

I came across this site www.skinbiology.com

I would one billion percent urge you to take a look at this. I used the Exfol serum in the AM and then Super CP Serum in the PM, I would say over the course of a year my skin improved 80%, I still have a few scars but they are reducing all the time. As far as I am concernced this product literally regrew my skin!!!!!!!!! It is relatively cheap and the great thing is its totally non avasive!!!! The way it works is it removes the damage to your skin (all the damage, so bear in mind when you start off your skin WILL look slightly worse than orginally because it is removing the damage) The Copper peptides in the product then literally rebuild your skin. I also incorporated 30% glycolic peels twice weekly to help in removing the damage.

I honestly hand on heart cannot praise this product highly enough. The great thing is on the forum you can actually speak directly to the doctor/inventor of this product. He will answer all your questions and give you honest advice. It is my view that dermatologists ripped me off for years, If I only knew then what I know now but thats life.

Genuinelly take a look at this site and give it a shot, it really is fantastic.

For anyone else who is interested they have products for literally all skin conditions, however I only tried to Exfol Serum and Super CP Serum so can only comment on those.

    Best of luck

"I know I'm not going to be able to get rid of the actual dents but any tips to reduce their appearance would be welcome" Thanks in advance![/QUOTE]

I did get rid of the dints mate, I always thought it was not possible but I did. It works unbelievably well for depressed scars.

The ones I have left (not badly) are the small raised types that usually are confined to a persons back. Im still working on them though and all the time improving..

The hardest part about having acne scars I have always thought is the thought that nothing works, this product lifted my spirits even after 4 weeks because I started to see improvement and I finally found something that was working!!!!

I think the person recommending the particular product is either working for them or does pr for them
I've had acne all my life and nothing works better than drinking water, water and water.

You could try getting a peel or some microdermabrasion?

I couldn't care less if you buy the product or not, I am simply trying to pass on my own experience.

Your advice of water water water shows off your little knowledge of acne and in particular acne scarring. The reason you have had acne all your life is because you don't understand it. You can get rid of it, even if it takes Roaccutane (which I hate, but it will get rid of acne, even your dermatologist will tell you that)

The product i recommended is for scarring ONLY.

You might want to read your own comment back to yourself "I've had acne all my life" This says to me you don't know how to get rid of it and need help. Go to your doctor and dermatologist, you are clearly not capable of dealing with it on your own

does anyone know if laser treatment actually works to get rid of acne scars or has had it done and can vouch for it? I have scars from my teenage years that are still on my back/shoulders 10+ years later and am considering getting it done. I am surprised that there would be a product/lotion you can take home that would get rid of them. Why would anyone go for laser surgery then if take home products can do the same job?

Water water water doesn't change how much hormones you produce or how many receptors for them you have in your skin... That's very peculiar. I drink 3 L a day during college term and a lot less outside college and it makes no difference at all.

Make up is your best bet. Dermatologists can fill in the dents with collagen but it's expensive.

Thanks for the replies everyone, great advice there! I am working on getting the actual acne sorted out, it's very much a hormonal thing for me so water doesn't help, I drink it all day long :( While I'm waiting for an improvement keeping permanent damage at bay is my main priority.

Picked this up over the weekend and I'll give it a go. It's really soothing which is great, some of these spots are so sore and annoying!

Definitely going to research both these options when my skin has calmed down a little. Cheers :)
