    Hi there,
I am looking for a VW bus to drive from Ireland to Finland to attend the World Wife Carrying Championships.
Anyone have any leads for me on where I can get one?
    Travel dates 24th June - 8th July.
    Thanks! :D
    Ciara

this crowd rent them out, http://www.lazydays.ie/index.html not too sure if you would be able to travel off the island.

Yep, talked to Sue, but they are all booked out for the whole summer.
Only crowd in Ireland who rent, but there might be someone out there willing to lend me theirs...for a very noble cause...getting the Irish Wife Carrying Team to Finland! ;)

I'd ask over at the vage.ie forum. They had a meet in Fermoy last year, and there were some serious busses there.

good luck to you... but the chances of someone lending their pride and joy to you for a foreign trip is practically 0.....do us proud over their though...

Would you consider biting the bullet and just buying one?
At least it would be yours and you needn't worry about damaging someones "pride and joy" as previously mentioned. Also, the value of these are generally increasing so you should be guranteed that you can sell it on again. Instead of spending money on renting costs, maybe just knock a grand off your price when ye return for a quick sale.
    Try www.krazykombis.com
    Good luck
(ps. I have no connection to them at all. It just may be the solution)

Good idea. Buy right and you might even make a profit. :D

TBH I can't see any owners 'lending' you their bus, but if they were to drive it (expenses paid of course) you might have more luck.

    Ask on www.type2ireland.org or www.eircooled.com
