Some of you know I've been involved with the Baby Jacob Millstreet fundraising campaign. 40 of us went into the studio and recorded a single about a month ago - including John Spillane, George Patterson, and many other cork musicians - which has been released today on iTunes. It's only 99c, and is available here :

    http://itunes.apple.com/ie/album/something-inside-so-strong/id374142155

I'm asking that everyone download it, and more importantly, tell everyone they know to download it too. Baby Jacob was born with no eyes and no optic nerves, and will never be able to see, but without his eyes his skull will deform and cause issues with brain development too. The money raised from the sale of the single will go towards regularly repetitive surgery until he's 7 to fit his eye sockets with expanders to ensure his skull, face, and brain develop properly.

So please download it, and tell all your friends and family to download it too. If you want to become a fan of the fundraising efforts or help out in any way, the Facebook page is here :

If for any reason you don't have iTunes, it doesn't take long to setup an account. If you want to use another music service the single is also available on emusic.com - a subscription based music site. It'll be getting airplay on the usual stations, and it's registered for the Irish charts ... so fingers crossed we'll end up getting a bit more publicity which will lead to more sales of the single too.

Thanks everyone, and don't forget to forward this to anyone you know!

Finally, if you want to learn more about Jacob - the site is http://www.babyjacob.ie

Great cause! Was at the fundraiser last Sunday in 'Drimihane' Castle (prob the wrong spelling) in Millstreet. Pity the weather was bad, but turnout seemed pretty high.

Question about the single...is it only on iTunes? Or, will it be in the shops too?

At the moment, it's only on iTunes/eMusic. We looked into doing CD's, but it would need a ball of cash up front to do it unless someone to sponsor it came on board and at the moment, every red cent we get goes directly into Jacob's fund. He's off on Saturday again for more surgery.

Thanks guys, it's winging its way up the charts. Was at 105 yesterdy and ended up being 94 today. If enough people buy it to push it into the fifties, it'll have to get national coverage, which means more financial support for Jacob who's off tomorrow for another operation in Germany
