I used to box and do karate for years but never really felt a challenge but feel like its time to dedicate and really push myself.

so basically im always full of engergy and need a propper work out ( in gym most days, 2 hour work out and id jog the 20 min walk no bother ) something where i Really had to work at ( i.e long warm ups and long stints of Grueling training ideal )

my dad said akido ( pardon spelling ) is great and would be ideal but whats your thoughts folks/sensa ?

Why not try Kickboxing, you have the basics with your boxing and karate exp.
The anaerobic and endurance training is harder, worth a try:)

I'd recommend MMA. Even if you have no interest in competing you'll be hard pressed to find anything that can beat a good MMA workout. Where are you based Pdfile?

I'm not really a grappler, but I've done a little bit of bjj. completely forgeting the technical side, I think a long session groundwork is a great workout. A good session of heavy pads is great too, whether it be mma, thai or kickboxing or any other striking style. Unfortunately the more traditional styles don't dedicate as much time to pad work
