Unfortunately no and the coordinator seems to be a bit odd. Two of my friends and I applied back in April. I emailed her asking about when conditional offers would be made and she said early May. Then my friend emailed towards mid May asking what was happening and she said no offers were being made until final results come out.

I just got my final result this week and as I didn't do my undergrad in NUIG I have to wait to receive hard copy from my college and then send it to PAC along with my friends.

Do you receive any conditional/final offers? Did you do your undergrad in NUIG?

I did my undergrad at NUIG have been working for the last year do. Didn't get any offer yet but i emailed her and she said i'd hear in the coming weeks, whatever that might mean. I think the NUIG final year results are out today or tomorrow so that should mean they'll start making offers fairly shortly. Funny she told you they wouldn't be making offers until all the final results are out as I know someone who was given a conditional offer.

Yeah correspondence with her seemed rather iffy and contradictory. The results are out this afternoon as far as I know. Hope to have my results submitted to PAC by Tuesday so hopefully I will get it as I rejected UCD due to cost and have my heart set on it now.

Sure I'll give a post if I get an offer or hear anything, let me know if you do too!

First set of offers are out towards the middle of next week, they are looking for people with high 2H1. I have an unlucky feeling.

    Me too.

Only hope is the high 2.1's reject the offers fast. My friend is going to reject his I think, I rejected my smurfit offer so he could get an offer there!

Yeah i hope so too. Hoping that doing my degree in galway will give me more of a chance as well

Yeah I would have thought that would help you! Did you do the Bcomm or what?

DCU and UCD offers out today as far as I know (I got DCU and my roomie got UCD) so should help that people would accept them before Galways come out later this week.

Yeah did a B.Comm.. What undergrad did u do? I didn't even bother applying for UCD its just too expensive. Did u apply to maynooth? The deadline was just was the 30th of june so they probably wont be making offers for a long time!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 457 ✭✭Celtise

Same but in UCC. Yeah I know UCD is so expensive but I kinda just wanted to see if I would get an offer to pi$$ off my roomie who was initially refused! I could afford the fees given my double sponsorship but the cost of living would just be too much for me and I want to go to Galway anyways. Didn't bother applying to maynooth. Sure DCU deadline is not until the end of this month and they are making offers.

ur dead right galway is really class. I hope they just tell me yes or no fairly soon so can make plans what to do. Think i'd find it fairly pointless sticking around this country next year if i don't get in anywhere!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 457 ✭✭Celtise

Yeah thats for sure. Have maynooth made offers yet? Galway need to hurry the hell up! At least I have DCU as back up and I won't acccept that or pay the deposit until the last possible minute!

i got in... Got the conditional offer a few weeks ago and meet the conditions so got in! Know two others who got in. They never sent anything out to say i got it so i rang them up and they said as long as i got the conditional offer and the 2.1 i got it...

Gah I just wanna know now. Did they just specify 2.1 and not any percentage at all coll89? The co-ordinator rang my friend last week and said high 2.1's!!!! I think I'm going to ring if I don't hear anything by the end of the week.

I was going to call about it yesterday but was staying with friends the past week and no internet working and then my phone died so I decided it wasn't meant to be so sent an email there. No offers were issued as far as I know.

I just got a reply today from her from the email I sent over the weekend. Says she is currently making offers based on final results and asks if I have submitted results to PAC and for my average.

I wanna say the same thing but still don't give up hope! She told my friend the same thing two weeks ago and then the DCU/UCD/other offers came out so I have a feeling NUIG got loads of cancellations and that is causing the delay but that they really need to be making offers this week or everyone is going to take alternatives. Have you any other outsiding colleges that havent made offers yet too is something to consider!

I emailed DCU asking about if I drop out after accepting the offer do I have to pay the €500 still as you have two weeks from the day you accept to pay but no response as of yet!

I completed the B.Comm in nui Galway there in May and I'v heard of a few people that have got offered places on the masters of accounting. However they do seem to be quite slow at offering places, but we were told that they get alot of applications so they will really just be looking at averages over 65 to start with! Unfortunatly i havent got a place either,,but got offered Athlone, so i took it! Best of luck guys, id love to be going back to galway :)

Slow isn't a strong enough word! Sure most people I know applied for UCD, DCU and NUIG. The latter is the only one that hasn't made offers yet and for the most part people I know only applied to NUIG as a back up so when they make offers now most of them could have already accepted a place somewhere else.

think ill just wait and see what happens this week. Athlone is closer to home for me anyway.
