Finding a Company to Send Mail to The UK from Northern Ireland

    Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone is aware of a service that will allow me to send mail to the UK from Northern Ireland.

I'm going to be sending a lot of large envelopes (250g) to the UK per day in the near future.

Sending from Ireland this costs €3 per envelope, this is for standard postage and comes with no insurance. Ideally I'd like some sort of compensation for items that go missing, registered post is €7.35

Sending from the UK (Northern Ireland) an account customer can send this item for 72p and it offers basic compensation. It's also quicker.

I'm looking for a way to take advantage of this huge saving (almost 10 times less).

Ideally I'd like to be able to have all my mail delivered by courier each day to a company up North that would post it for me.

To take advantage of the compensation I'd need a company that has an account with Royal Mail and gets their post picked up, you need this for proof of postage/compensation (I couldn't just drive up and pop all the post in a postbox myself)

There is very little work involved in this, if possible I would print the postage labels in advance so they would really just need to have the mail collected (with their other mail).

So far Wiseloads are the only Irish based company I found doing this but their prices are not that appealing so I'm looking for alternatives.

Does anyone know of a Northern Ireland based company that does this or have any idea of how to find one?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Sooner than later in Dun Laoghaire used to do this, I used to deliver to Newry PO. for them.

Duo have a service where they take a reasonable quantity of mail and give you a reduced rate on it and that might help you.

Give me a PM on this I am NI based with the best access to best mailing rates - and business only services not used by many courier services.

the 72p for tracking number does not cover the cost of posting the items as well
additional stamp will need to be put on each envelope and at the weight your talking about it will cost around £2.40 per envelope (packet rate ) as opposed to a large letter which can be posted for £1.70

the savings are still there but not as big as you thought

also id consider sending them 1st class if you want them to get delivered ASAP to your customers, i think royalmail deliberately delay second class mail to encourage more people to pay for 1st class

theres absoutely nothing to stop you driving to newry and doing this yourself ,once you have the tracking numbers you are covered

irish paypal doesnt have an option to enter a royal mail tracking number so i dont know how they would handle a dispute if it arose because someone claimed they didnt recieve

this wouldnt matter if the items are cheap but if theyre very expensive it might

The cost of a proof of delivery signature is 0.74 pence. Both 1 st and 2nd
are not garanteed services ie their goal is to deliver them asap in order of priority, they never hold back post if you use a second class stamp hence during holiday periods when it has a lower demand often a second class letter can arrive the next day.

I have often had 2nd class items delivered between 1-2 weeks later

first class usually comes the next morning ,definately not the same service
