Because John Locke is far more popular than those two.

These lists are never going to get 100% approval but even so it's a pretty bad list. No iconic characters like Superman, Sherlock Holmes, Dracula etc who have tons of longevity yet they have Harry Potter and Buffy at 2 and 3 respectively.

Jack Bauer at 44!? Crazy - should be in the Top 10 at least...

Well it is celebrating the last 20 years.

I'm quite a big BtVS fan but even I have enough common sense to realise that Buffy ain't near top 3 status. The Buffy character was actually one of the poorer aspects of the show I thought.

So you have characters from Halo, Uncharted , GTA and God of War but no Mario, the most well known video game character ever? List nonsense, just the first one hundred fictional characters to come to mind.

not really, hes playing a different version of himself, (the larry david he would LIKE to be in real life as he's once said).
Anyway, if this was an issue then why is "Stephen Colbert" in that list?

It's a great list. Take an utterly impossible concept and make a list. If you even agree with 5 of the 100 they've gone a good job.

If I were to make a similar list (and it would be damn hard) I'd say there are at least 15 of the above that would make it in there.
