Speech and language therapist v's stockbroker

I am studying for a commerce course and for the final two years I am going to concentrate on economics and finance subjects. My grades so far have been poor mainly 50 and 60 %. Ok so I don’t want to be bored or stuck infront of a computer all day so I was thinking about what careers would be possible for me – stockbroker, accountant, management consultant etc in commerce.

I am not sure if I am suited to this or if I am suited to business at all as I feel that I was more encouraged to go into it because of the money and the glamour.

Guess so what do I do if I am not suited to this I was thinking about speech and language therapy – I would love to do medicine but am put off due to how long it could take to become a consultant in this country so what I am asking is what kind of medical careers are available to me and what kind of commerce careers are available to me.

Even can I get into these types of medical field courses as a postgraduate. Like I love the idea of being a world renounded specialist in an area such as peadatrics and operating etc . I feel so strongly about this area but any advice- be it course career area such as occupational therapy etc

Only you can decide littletony, really and truly. I know of a girl who studied speech and language therapy, and after finishing her degree in it decided she wanted to go back and study medicine, and she had to resit the leaving cert before she could go back to study medicine! I think she was exempt from first year, but that is still 4 years extra in college/studying!
So in terms of your saying getting qualified in medicine would take years, well yes it would, but you'd spend that amount of time working your way into and up in a broker like Davy's anyway.
    Follow your heart.
