    Hi

Me and two mates (none of us single just for the record!) are heading away for a weekend in July. We'll be driving, and realistically want to be able to get there within 4 hours drive. We're all early 30s.

Basically looking for suggestions on where to go. Somewhere a bit lively with a good range of pubs. We've done Galway and Kilkenny recently so they're out..

    Cheers.. :)

I like Westport. Nice pubs only one nightclub i think but its a grand spot. And theres good beaches and ye could climb Croagh Patrick to sober up!

If heading to the Northwest I'd recommend Derry over Sligo. Far better value. Lots of good bars, it's cheap (pints usually around £2.50 -> Metro on Friday nights has a £2 a pint special) and plenty of good looking women to keep the eye entertained ;)

If out in Sligo you'll probably end up in the Velvet Rooms which is around €12 in. It's a decent niteclub though.

Only downside for Derry is the 3 to 3.5 hour drive from Dublin! Sligo is around 2.45 hours drive from Dublin.

Cork definitely. Always had great craic out there. Especially around the Washington Street area seems to where most people are up for a laugh more so than poser parts. Even shorter journey now with the new road, you'd be down there in no time.
