And it doesn't seem to be working out for me.

I bought an item about 3 weeks ago, to the value of 10 pounds, with 5.50 postage.

The item never came to me, so I emailed the seller, (to add at this point, they are from the UK, have over 5,000 sales and 99.7% positive feedback) a few days later I got a reply saying it had been deilvered to EIRE. I replied saying that It may have been delivereed to EIRE, but not to me. Again a few days later he replied with this,
    Hi There

Just to let you know i received the parcel i sent to you back it says insufficient address the address that i got from paypal is
    {part of my address}

I can resend thid to you if you are willing to pay the postage £5.50 again if not i can refund you minus the postage

    Thank You

Now, here's the problem. My address is there in my paypal account perfectly, and it's there three times (father, brother and myself). My address in my ebay account was down incorrectly, but it was also down as unconfirmed.

    My actually address,
    Limerick Man,
    Apple Street,
    Banana square,
    Limerick,
    Ireland

The insufficient address was as follows,
    Limerick Man,
    Banna square,
    Limerick, Limerick,
    Ireland.

But, as I said this was down in my ebay account, unconfirmed, and not in my paypal account as he said.

I hope the above is some what understandable, and I'm basically looking for advice as to whether I should have to pay the postage again, or whether he is liable.

He's also very very slow at replying, so any progess wil be slow...

    Thanks in advance

The onus is always on the buyer to confirm the correct delivery address, so I'd say he's within his rights. You are asked to review this at checkout.

I dont believe confirmed delivery addresses is a function that applies to addresses in Ireland, so this wouldn't make any difference (I've bought over 50 items on ebay and my address is still unconfirmed)

But where I was coming from is that he said he took my address from my paypal account? Again, I'm completely ignorant to how paypal and ebay works so you'll have to bear with me.

    Thanks for the reply.

I've had a similar experience before whereby a seller took my address from eBay, instead of using the address I approved with PayPal.

Id just raise a claim with paypal tbh. If you never got the item and the tracking doesnt show delivered to you then you should get refunded.

He doesn't seem to like replying to emails quickly. Even if I paid the postage again, it would still be less than 20% of the price of buying it here. But I suppose it's a matter of principal.

A lot of people will refer to eBay and Paypal as the same, so I wouldn't read too much into it. He obviously took the address that went through the eBay portion of the purchase, and not the Paypal side of it. These should be the same (you should make them the same), so it usually doesn't make a difference.

It should have been OK for him to use either address, as you supplied both, so I think the onus is on you here. You can either pay again for delivery, or take the £10 refund.

Thought as much, god never hated a try-er:p

I'll take it on the chin, thanks lads.

Limerickman ,As mentioned you should update your ebay address to match your paypal details.
Also you should insert your mobile number as one line of your address. This ensures that it is automatically included if anything you buy is sent by courier.

Thanks! Both are updated, and I sent him on another £5.50. Live and learn

No problem. By the way I would buy at least once a week from various Uk ebay sellers and 95% of the time receive the items by post 4 days later here in Co. Limerick.
Contact the seller and ask them for the royal mail tracking number (if they sent it with tracking), this number will also work with An Post once the item arrives over here.

Ya he uses Royal Mail anyway, he said he'll post it on Monday so hopefully I'll have it be the weeks end, hopefully!
