Yrp, do it soon before they introduce the 1.7 diesel instead of the 2.0.

(2.0 is currently being offered for 1.7 money till it comes in)

Agree that they look the nicest of their class and being a Hyundai should be fairly reliable and good value.

I drove it. It is very quick and has some great torque all round.

It has a high seating position of course. Good room all round and a good enough spec.

    Negative. Very cheap plasticy finish.

Best price I received. €26k straight deal in Limerick.

Not a fan of Hyundai but I DO like this iX35 or whatever its called, still not as good as the Skoda Yeti though, go and test drive a Yeti before you make any decision. Its basically the same car as the VW Tiguan(?) but better built, better specced and starts at €20k against the VW starting at €30k. a Real no-brainer but the trouble is, too many people have copped on to how good Skoda's really are so getting a tad common:(. Skoda has been the best kept secret for the last 10 years, only a matter of time now before they start cheapening the cars and destroying the good name they've built up.

May be a good car but how could you face your friends telling them you drive something called a Yeti!

So it'd be better to tell them you drive a iX35? ( a very deliberate marketing ploy by Hyundai to confuse it with certain BMW models). How many owners will say "I drive a Hyundai" instead of "I drive an iX35", it's like being back in the 80's when EVERYONE had a GTi cos it was cool to say "i"
Hyundai are so insecure in their own product that they badge it to resemble another car altogether? Nice one!

Skoda are not known for their naming skills, Superb anyone?
I'm sure the first purveyor of a Fabrege egg probably felt something similar.
Quality shines through. People who drive skoda's are the smuggest fcukers on the planet cos they KNOW the got the Fabrege egg for creme egg money.

It's on par with any modern Audi I've been in! (And I'm not trying to tarnish Hyundai's rep by comparing it to an audi!)

I've driven the diesel and it is a nice drive. It feels very nimble, a lot smaller than it actually is, on the road - more like a big hatchback than anything.

Wasn't SUPERB a name they used in the past..? 1930's... the rest I agree with.

Follow a Hyundai I30 (nice car too) along the motorway... bugger it looks like a BMW 1 series from the back

    I'd agree with Andrew33.
You should look at the Skoda Yeti if you're considering a Hyundai ix35 (or a Nissan Qashqai).

Bought a Skoda Yeti myself recently. Excellent car and a steal at the price. Skoda are giving a good scrappage deal too if you qualify.
Got 4,000 off list price on a Skoda Yeti 2.0 Active model.

Are Skodas not just last generation VWs?

Are they as unrefined as VWs are?

Nothing last generation about the Yeti or any current Skoda for that matter, the yeti is bases on the golf, the refinement issues were always to do with the diesel engines and seeing as skoda use exactly the same one's as vw now, their refinement is similiar, its much better than it used to be a couple of year ago too, new diesel engines...

In that category , it would have to be a Kuga for me and from Hyundais design, its clear thats what they copied.

Inside the ix35 is a throw back to the early 90's IMO. Plastics are crap and dull and the torque steer under acceleration is funny to say the least.

26 Grand buys a lot of car these days , I wouldn't be spending it on a Hyundai ;)

    iX35... looks a bit like X3 or X5... isn't it obvious?

Definitely not "last gen VW's". the first model Octavia WAS built on earlier VW tech but my 06 Octavia had the very latest tech and equipment (DSG 'box, dual zone climate etc etc) that the equivalent VW had at the time, Only thing the VW's have over Skoda's is more airbags and a funny key. AND, the VW Polo was built on the Fabia Mk1 platform, not the other way around.

BMW have started labelling their SUV's and roadsters with stupid designations like X6 xdrive35d and Z4 sdrive25i. Hyundai's (ix35) is a little similar.

The skoda yeti is a goofy looking thing. The hyundai is a much nicer looking car. In my opinion.

Pug 3008? If you don't mind the styling, it's a better car mpv 4x4 crossover in pretty much every way than the ix35.

It's basically the same car as the ix35 underneath as Hyundai and Kia are sister companies.
