I'd love if they asked about the recent iPhone leaks. :D

I'm very interested to hear what he has to say about Google.

Well that was worth the watch. His response to the iPhone leaks was interesting.

Steve: You know, when this whole thing with Gizmodo happened, I got advice from people who said 'you gotta just let it slide, you shouldn't go after a journalist just because they bought stolen property and tried to extort you.' And I thought deeply about this, and I concluded the worst thing that could happen is if we change our core values and let it slide. I can't do that. I'd rather quit.

He is dead right. Gizmodo absolutely milked the story for all it was worth, and they knew what they were getting themselves into.

John Gruber had an interesting point -

''What’s the “core value” at play here, though? “Nobody ****s with us”, perhaps.''

Yep but Apple always had these values. They weren't shy of threating legal action when iPod pics were leaked.

Just watched a bit of the Balmer interview. Painful stuff.

It was a good interview. I especially liked his responses to audience questions. He said they aren't getting into search or tv, which means they probably are. He had too good a grasp on both issues to not be planning something.

I love the fact that he still reads and responds to customer emails.

Re: the Gizmodo business, if they had just made nice, apologised and given the phone back it would be easier to sympathise with them. But their attempt to extort a letter from Apple was downright dirty. They bought stolen property and expected Apple to come grovelling for it. Jobs is absolutely right not to let it go.

I see Gizmodo are looking for people to help them liveblog WWDC. Looks like they didn't get the invite. Ouch!

Also interestingly they blogged little to none of the Steve Jobs D8 Interview.

Yeah, Gizmodo's Apple coverage has been uniformly negative since the iPhone fiasco. They are acting so childish, as if they are the victims. Real journalists (which Gizmodo obviously aren't) don't behave like this. They should have realised when they bought the phone that there would be consequences.

I actually only noticed this today. I never liked Gizmodo as a blog, much preferred Engadget. There was always something so tabloid-ish about Gizmodo.

Edit: Had to post this. John Gruber's response to Gizmodo not being invited to WWDC:

If Gizmodo’s editors were smart, they’d have purchased WWDC conference badges if they wanted to attend the keynote. But of course, that’s a big “if”.

    :D
