We're having a discussion about Podge and Rodge at work (there hours fly by here...).

There's on fella who insists that it's a show for young lads, and that older people don't get it. The rest of us reckon it has a much wider appeal, and that it's just as likely to be watched by a middle-aged housewife as it is some 20 year old student.

    Who's right?

Probably more likely to be watched by the older crowd than students these days... Do students even watch TV any more? And the ones that do generally dislike RTÉ...
A Scare at Bedtime and the first year or two of the Podge and Rodge show would've been popular with students, but I think they dropped the ball quality-wise after that... Sure even the audience members these days seem to be an older crowd...
    Hope that helps...

Nice one, I'll scour YouTube for some evidence.

To me the show would seem aimed towards a younger demographic due to the style of language used but the low quality of the guests makes it hard to see who the actual audience really is.

They tend to have a lot of lads from Fair City and gardening shows on there - makes me think they're after the older viewers.

While lousy guests like that wont entice the 20ish viewers the format and style of the show just wont appeal to the 40ish age group.

So they're aiming for those in their 30s then. :D

And failing miserably, I'm in my mid 30s and the program is a hateful little thing. They haven't been amusing since the first or second season of A Scare at Bedtime, and the funniest thing about that were the out takes.
