Child Porn in Ireland

    Hi there,

Did anyone happen to catch Prime Time last night which looked at child porn in Ireland?

Using some US designed software they were able to monitor the activities of over 1000 indivuduals in Ireland sharing images of child abuse/porn/ rape during a 30 day period. They named loads of Irish towns where this is going on - seems no where is exempt. This software has been readily used abroadd to catch these sickos but typically Ireland is lagging far behind with only one member of the force trained to use it!

They also created a virtual 11 year old girl and were able to trace a few pedophiles who were trying to arrange to meet her and asking her to perform sexual acts via webcam.

This is so disturbing! One Irish man who was caught in the US hung a sign around a 4 year old year that read "I'm a little slut". This was his way of getting access to a pedophile chat room and to show that he was willing to rape her which I think he did.

The totally worst part is that the age of the victims is getting younger all the time. Many are now targeting babies as they can't speak so won't be able to tell anyone about the abuse!!

The internet has a lot to answer for in this regard. So depraved. Not that we want to get alarmist about it but if you have kids on social networking sites I would educate them to the dangers!
