Hi, im in the market for a laptop i need it for basic enough photoshoping i have seen a few laptops but i have kind of moved to the macbook probably wont get the full use out of it for the money i will pay i have an iphone also so will be handy.

should i buy the macbook or another make?
is it worth getting the macbook pro ahead of the macbook?

The Macbook Pro is defo worth the extra money over the standard Macbook. It seems more sturdy, and you can't beat that Unibody aluminum case! So slick!

Re Photoshop, depends how many layers you'll be editing. I have a 2.53 GHz, with 4 Ghz ram Macbook Pro 15 (last model mid 2009 to early 2010 Intel) and it works, but can be a little sluggish.

Dunno how the new Intel "i" series processors stack up against the last model.

For the same money you could get a mega spec Windows based laptop, but "Once you go Mac, you won't go back" as the saying goes. They're just so reliable.... and sweet!

thanks for your reply, i would not pay that sort of money for a windows pc just the reports i here back from mac are very good. do you know if i will have to pay extra to get photoshop put on the macbook pro or would it be included in the €1149 mac ?

photoshop is a completely seperate programme .... and you need to pay that on top of paying for the laptop.

a new version of CS5 is approx €800, a student version or upgrade is around €250, theres usually "other" versions available online...not sure if they work or not but lots of people have them (so I'm told)

I recently bought an upgrade of CS5, havent uploaded it to my macbook yet , thinking it might be time to upgrade the macbook...lol... its 2yrs old now :D

(I've had macbook and Macbook Pro... dont notice much difference - I'm talking about the 15inch aluminium body one - both macbook and macbook pro are similar... with the pro the keys light up in the dark and its slightly faster)

thats expensive enough i would probably just need the basic photoshop cs 3 i think it is. im hoping the IT man in work can put it on the macbook as he can put it on the pcs in work but none of them are macs also i have a cracked copy of photoshop on a cd i know this is ilegal and i would never do it but hypothetically do you think that version would work and would it effect my apple waranty ?

cheers for the feedback lads im not great on the IT side.

Discussion of cracked software is against the the Boards TOS and will get you banned.

The full Adobe CS4 IIRC is 2500 USD:eek: I use photoshop but I wanst the one that paid the bill:) TBH unless you're a very heavy user there are thousands of graphics applications out there.
