It seems I have a slow coolant leak. Can't see where it is leaking from. Is there any type of sealant that can be bought to put through system and allow it to seal itself? A guy in fastfit mentioned something like this to me but I forget the name of the product. Any help is appreciated. Cheers guys.

Any idea where it is in the bonnet? Is this the same thing as the coolant reservoir?

Ya might want to have the head checked on the car too to make sure it's not warped or cracking ..... this might be where your coolant is going either ...

Thanks for info, I will check tonight and report back tomorrow. It's a pity it's not a fast leak as then I would be able to spot it.

If it's the head gasket there'll be a creamy sludge under the oil filler cap, the air vents won't blow hot and there'll be 'steam' coming from the exhaust even when the engine is hot.

The expansion bottle looked fine anyway. I will check for the sludge tonight. Thanks for further info.

Radiator hose back of the engine just above the bell housing, id bet that the clip on it is shagged! look at the gearbox from the top & you will prob notice the coolent stains on it..

Check along the raditor, could be pin hole leaks. Sealant stuff mentioned
    i'd say was probably Radweld.

Check the thermostat housing. Look at the radiator and the pipe at the bottom on it. Follow that pipe up to the engine and you will see what it goes onto, its a plastic thing, there is also another pipe onto it. That thing is the thermostat housing, common enough with the Zetecs but an easy cheap fix;) Replace the seals aswel.
