So I was looking to buy a new slim now over next few weeks... I checked out the GAME website and priced various items I was interested in... Does this seem like a good deal?

Dead to Rights Retribution - £30
    Alan Wake - £30
    Mod Nation Racers - £40
    PS3 + GTA ballad tony etc. - £260
    Dragon Age - £17
    Split Second - £35
    Yakuza 3 - £20
    Fallout 3 - £14
Little Big Planet GOTY - £20
    Lost Planet 2 - £22
    White Knight Chronicles - £25

Where else would I pick these games up if they are cheaper elsewhere?.. I may leave out a few of the games.. Will be going to dublin in a week or 2 to maybe pick up the games and then get console after as I am currently using brothers ps3..

    Thanks,
    John

I have had my eye on Dead to Rights a few months now...May just buy 2nd hand on adverts..

Yeah I know Alan Wake on Xbox :P I just popped it into the equation anyways lol..

Yeah 260 seems ok for a slim 120gb and loved GTA 4 (may buy that aswell)..

Played the demo of Split Second taught it was amazing but may not be appealing to most people..

Prob get GOTY edition then if it worth it...Lost Planet 2 is out?? At least i am sure its out  but then again I aint checked it out haha...

I guess it all depends on what kind of games people like tbh... Yeah I may buy Yakuza but why has it rocketed down in price? It must not be selling well... Looks good though will have to look at some videos...

Yep checked up after it is out... The demo was just ok so I think for 22 pound it should be worth it like..

I really enjoyed Dragon Age. It's a nice hefty RPG if you like 'em. You'd get nearly 50 hours out of it I'd say. It's very much in the fantasy genre though, so if that doesn't float your boat I'd avoid. Saying that I'm not the biggest fantasy fan, can usually take or leave it and I really enjoyed the story. There's some really good characters in it. 'Too much magic,' is a bit of a bizarre complaint to have against it. It's like saying "Gran Turismo is only okay, too many wheels in it,"

I like my RPG's to be more about guns than magic spells. Thats why i loved Fallout but hated Oblivian with a passion.

Think i came straight from Mass effect 2 to dragon age and just coudnt settle into it. I liked the way Shepard talked and a conversation flowed but then in Dragon age you just select a comment and got a response.

    Might go back to it.

Yeah Mod Nation is definately on my purchase list.. Have Red Dead and finished it...Just trying to get 100% now which is tough and boring as theres nothing really left to do..

    LBP 2 looks amazing also...

Yeah I was teh same, I couldn't get into Oblivion but loved Fallout. It's just the magic is what I loved about Dragon Age. Making a Mage character and destroying stuff with spells was fairly satisfying. I played it before Mass Effect 2 though so I'm not sure how good it would seem after that.

    Y

    That hardly tells you anything.

I'll add one caveat about Dragon Age. I really enjoyed it but there is a lot of dialogue, even for a Bioware game. A lot. Also, there's been one expansion and several DLCs, so we should expect a GOTY edition or similar by the end of the year.

Just letting you know that brand new 120gb PS3's are hard to come by at the moment. GAME stores in Dublin are having a real shortage of them for some reason. Seems like they're out of circulation at the moment. Just so you know the prices you'd be talking about €300 for a 120gb and €350 for a 250gb (generally in a deal with one or two games included).

He has it all priced in £ rather than € so I guess he's shopping north of the border. Supplies might not be an issue up there perhaps?

Use the Gamestop offer for Lost Planet 2, Mod nation racers and S/s.

Try Zaavi.co.uk/thehut.co.uk on a Sunday (Their "Monday Madness" sale) for White Knight, Dead to Rights and Yakuza 3.

If you dont mean Euros thats a little pricey on most of the items for my liking.
