    Found them a while ago. If it looks to good to be true..... seen a strat on it for like 50 quid was tempted. Then I read some horror stories from a google search. I would steer clear.

    What about this Strat http://www.dhgate.com/new-arrival-fender-stratocaster-electric/p-ff8080812571eff60125726b98024552.html
    While it says 'Made in USA' on the headstock the blurb clearly says it's made in China, and hence why it's 'so cheap'.
    However, I would not consider a cheap knockoff of a Strat cheap at $225 plus shipping. Waltons would be a better bet :-)

    And the blurb doesn't inspire much confidence;

    "This Violin is of the finest quality, and yet it is only raction of the cost that you would normally pay" :p

    All knockoffs. If you look at the pictures on some of them you can see how badly made they are. 3-5 piece bodies that aren't even cut straight and the very cheapest of tuners, etc. I'd imagine the electrics are pure muck too.

    I wouldn't waste my money.

    Not even, i mean you could buy a nice squire for that money. Which we all know play very well given their price. And seeing that it's €300~ delivered + tax it's a terrible deal!

    Before we opened the store, I used to travel around the country visiting most of the music shops in Ireland. I'm very familiar with the usual suspects (Gibson, Fender, Ibanez etc) and could spot a fake a mile away. At least twice I caught out customers trying to trade in these counterfeit guitars to stores.

    Do not buy one, they are disgracefully bad. A 200euro "Gibson" would not come close to an Epiphone or Vintage for the same money. Any I have seen are virtually unplayable, use shoddy materials and dreadful pickups. There's a few out there who've been stung with these instruments and are now passing them on to young players who don't know the difference. About three years ago a file circulated from Gibson detailing what to look out for with these instruments, I'm sure it's available online.

    If it looks to good to be true, it probably is. With the current trend of "name for the buck" some brands are producing cheaper instruments that are not quite the quality of their signature ones, but nothing out there is that cheap.

    I'm not going to lie, I reckon that if you buy a fake Gibson thinking it's the real thing, you're a chump and get what you deserve.

    It's so obvious they're not real.

    Take this for future reference
