FREE nmea log file replayer?

Hey all,
Does anyone know of FREE software to replay a nmea gps log file?
it dosnt need to be anything fancy, (does not need to be overlayed on top of a map). just replay and trace a track.

I've searched for a while but cant find anything free for REPLAYING the gps log file.
if anyone knows of one it would save me spending all day writing my own buggy program!

You can convert NMEA log files to Goggle Earth kml files by installing GPSBabel (http://www.gpsbabel.org/), or online using GPSVisualizer (http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/map_input?form=googleearth). Then just import them into Google Earth and away you go.

Yeah i was aware you could do this with various tools, problem is that it just creates a track, without replaying the route.
not what i was looking for but useful none the less

The free version of GPS TrackMaker has a 'simulation' option although I've never tried it.

GPS Visualizer can create a KML file that will "replay" in Google Earth using the timeline feature. Just be sure to enable "time stamps" and "Draw track as waypoints":
