wee directive and spare parts

I had a hotpoint engineer attempt to fix my washing machine today (but that's another story).

Anyway, he replaced the drum in the machine. He refused to take the old drum with him. Surely this is against the wee directive? I wasn't in the house at the time so the person there didn't argue the point with him.

All the packaging is still there as well.

    Who's right in this case?

Well, if you asked for a spare part to be installed and payed for it you didn't ask for litter to be left behind.

    You'd think wouldn't you!....

hotpoint service is a bit like the mona lisa - best viewed from afar.
