Is it the real deal yeah? It looks cr@p if its an official Sega unit doesnt it? That back of the case looks like it was cut with a breadknife :p

The sellers comments on it are rather vague, still htough...its an interesting piece of kit.

I remember seeing that in a magazine YEARS ago, a red one and a blue one also. Think wikipedia has a piece on them I remember readin', some of them had piracy restrictions & some didnt.

They're dodgy looking units alright. Sega didn't exactly seem to care what the end result looked like, as long as it worked :pac:

Here's a bit about them, some good pictures -

Much better pics o1s1n cheers. It seems like a standard genesis top half, a standard sega cd bottom half....and a custom bit in the middle with the whole lot integrated. Pretty much uselef today as a dev unit, but with no region limitations I guess it still has its uses. Id buy it if I had the cash...love rare/obscure stuff like that.

Well you know we could colude on this, I make him a really low offer, get someone else to make a really low offer and piss him off a bit then someone makes a reasonbile offer, like £220 or somthing and he might let it go

And what about your parents and o1s1ns'....will they not miss you when the two of yous are found butchered to death, seemingly by an N64 joypad? And a certain Mega CD Dev unit in the hand of the only surviving member of the syndicate...;)

    :P

I guess it's expensive in that it's a lot of money for something pretty damn frivelous. But rarity wise, and for what it is, it's pretty much worth that.

If I had the money to throw away I'd buy it up.

Would it be possible to produce games from this thing?

its just sickening really, I mean I'm all for a profit but that could be in the hands of a group of people capable of developing a new Sega CD game for all of us
