Unused flights - FYI

I was unaware of this, so just thought I'd pass on the info.

I originally booked a Flybe flight, Belfast to Manchester return for the weekend, fri-sun. My plans changed since & I booked a seperate oneway flight from Dublin to Manc, with the intention of using my original flight to Belfast on Sunday.

Because I didn't use my original outgoing flight, my booking was cancelled automatically & I had no return flight.

Thankfully, there was room on the flight, & Flybe being a decent airline, didn't charge me extra for the new booking. I'd be afraid to look up what it would have cost if a different airline, you know who.

If you mean Ryanair, it wouldn't have cost you a cent...Ryanair sell you two singles effectively, so it doesn't matter if you don't use the first leg. As you've seen, most airlines don't do that..

Ah okay ... I was just thinking that they would have charged me an astromnoical cost for a new ticket.

I suppose its the way Airlines have gone these days, you presume the worst, & are surprised by even a hint of decent customer services.

    Presumptions are the divils work.
