Professional bodies for lgbt people?

    The the 'Lawyers' thread below interests me, Is there many lgbt professional bodies? My past life was education but looking at a different path now....I'd be interested to know what's organisations exist.

    Not exactly what you mean (I think) but the three main Teaching Unions, INTO, ASTI and TUI all have active LGBT groups within them, advising on policy.

    There is an LGBT Business group (there was a conference last year), There are groups within companies e.g. Google, IBM there are groups within trade unions, The Guards now have a group as well

    It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

    Thanks Spurious,yeah it is something like that I was referring to. I had seen a lesbian primary teachers group advertised in Outhouse but there was no mention of T.

    Good news! The LGBT Lawyers Association is making progress. Here's a link to our facebook site...so if you are out on facebook come and join us there.

    If not...log in to the website with a username. That way you don't have to sacrifice any privacy to join, for example, if you're not out at work and don't want to be.
