    Hello fellow gamers,

As the thread title states, does anybody have a tutorial on how to make CoD2 & CoD4 videos (PC Version)?

I play CoD4 (in a clan) and CoD2 (by myself) and sometimes I manage to do sick things that I would love to start compiling into videos to share with you all.

But I haven't got a clue how to do it!

What freeware is out there to make videos?

Any help will be greatly appreciated! ;)

I can't help I'm afraid. I know what's involved in recording from 360 or PS3, but I don't know if you're restricted in the same way on PC. They use a HD recorder, like a Haupage and you possibly need one of them too. But maybe, because it's already on the PC, you don't? Tallon or Shammy can probably clarify that.

I'm pretty sure I don't need an external recorder on the PC.

On the PC, I can record myself playing by simply typing "/record" in the console. Then I can review these recordings by simply clicking on the file (this will launch the game and I will see exactly what I was seeing when I was playing).

Years ago my clan made a clan movie (on CoD1!) and I remember using an application called "Fraps" to save my demos in MPEG format.

I wonder if, seen as 6 years have passed, there are better tools available nowadays...

    http://www.fraps.com/

The free version is limited to 30 seconds though. Its still the best utility, then convert them with Windows Movie Maker

6 Years on and fraps is probably still the best, I use it, but rarely play PC anymore.

My mate records with it, and gets brilliant results. I'll give him a shout and ask him to tell you what settings he uses etc :)

I record my videos using WeGame player, you can record in low quality or HD quality, HD movies would be about 1gb for every 10 minutes though. You can use a hotkey and record as much as you want. Recorded a nuke last night and all :)

    Hi guys!

Thanks for the replies! I downloaded Fraps last night and played around with it a bit. It seems nothing has changed! I also downloaded Seismovision to playback my demos but I can't get it working properly at all and it even crashed my PC twice...

I might give that "WeGame player" a go as well!

    Thanks again lads! :)
