Hi all had a Opel Combo van pack up on me only 3 years old but high mileage looking to replace it for new Berlingo or Ford Connect van. At moment prices I've been quoted don't seem much cheaper than in height of boom €14k for connect €13500 for Berlingo.

Anyone know who is giving best deals will consider alternative but van needs to do 40 - 50Kms per year

    Thanks for any help

I know it's more or less the same as the Combo underneath, but you aren't going to get a new (although pre-regged) Van of that size any cheaper/

Thanks for Diablo info it's just that changed from Berlingo to 1.3 Opel combo (lasted less than 3 years)& felt these wern't up to mileage also carrying about 300kg of tools but it does look a good price.

Just found out about Pre reg vehicles and taking a pre reg is fine

Best van I've found to be is the Caddy, premium price compared to the rest but a nice sturdy drive and is very reliable. As with any VAG vehicle you pay through the nose for options given in the competitors (E/W etc.), but if you're after a no frills van which will go forever then I highly recommend one. Company van just upgraded to a 1.9 TDI Caddy Maxi w/ optional electric pack and side doors - similar to this: http://www.driving.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=201020198099415

For the Doblo, I'd try and go for the 1.9 Multijet JTD over the 1.3 - much more power and a sturdier engine. http://www.driving.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=201009197131556

Your Combo isn't a 1.3 CTDI one is it? Mine needed a new engine 35,000, and loads of other work done including clutch hydrolics. Dealers used to expect me on a weekly basis - I was getting overtime so I wasn't complaining ;)

Yes had 3 combo tdi,s engine gone on 1, clutches, gearboxes you name it, problems started after about 2 years. Opel waste of time regarding warranties etc.

I was hoping this last one bought Aug 07 would last till Xmas but not prepared to spend any more € on it.

At moment €12' 250 (inc vat)for pre reg old type Berlingo or €12' 750 (inc vat) for pre reg new shape.

Think VW may be too expensive the 1.9 Fiat may be abit of a gamble as well
