Should I get my tooth extracted?

I got a big filling in one of my molars last year and it's always been a pain because the filling is really close to the nerves, but now it's worse!I've a toothache in that tooth for 2-3 days now and it won't go away!

Should I just get it pulled?Or any other options?

On a different note,do dentists still take medical card?I've heard they do and I've heard they don't,so what's happening with that?

Hi there, I had a similar issue a while ago. One of my molars had been causing me light pain on and off for a few years and I got a large filling in it a few months ago. As it happens, the filling didn't work and I got it extracted a few days ago.

I'm on the medical card aswell, and if I'm not mistaken it covers you for two emergency dental treatments a year (anyone, feel free to correct me here if I've gotten a bit mixed up). It was suggested I could have root canal treatment (which could possibly be suggested to you too) but it's not covered by medical card and it costs 500euro so I'd to turn it down. Some dentists taken medical card, some don't. Most importantly, go to your dentist and get it looked at - the last thing you'll want is it turning into an abscess!

Yeah a root canal was one of my options aswell, but my dentist said it was only a worst case scenario,so I don't think I'm that bad yet!

Yeah I'll my dentist now and see when I can get it done and ask about all this medical card malarky, thanks for that anyway!
