updating to 3.1.3 question

my ipod is running extremely slow and i tried taking the music off but it was still running slow so im thinking it may be the jailbreak. if i update my ipod(jailbroken) to 3.1.3 will i lose my contacts/notes etc information? I realise I will lose the jailbreak but that doesnt bother me so much.

Update it, then use Spirit to jailbrake it again. You will not lose anything. BUT make sure you backup your Ipod before you start the process just in case.
