The D Range have MPEG2 digital tuners suitable for only for UK.

Ireland use MPEG4 for digital broadcasts hence no video or error messages.

You will need a MPEG4 set top box for Irish DTT or a CAM if that model is supported (see stickies at top).

Thanks for the informative reply :) It does have a slot for a CAM. Do you know where I can buy one that's MPEG4 compliant? And also, is it just a matter of sticking it in the slot and that's it?

The cams only works for certain models. As it happens they dont work on your range.

What are you trying to achieve ? Is it just DTT that you want to receive or are you trying to replace an NTL/Sky package ?

I just want to receive DTT. I recently cancelled Sky and just use the box for the UK stations. I got a new aerial installed for the Irish channels with a Proception masthead amp which the installer assured me will be all set to receive digital when the service launches. Was he talking through his arse? So yeah, I just want to have a gander at the test channels in the meantime.

Ok well then just get yourself one of these Sigmatek's below. They are 60 on pixmania. The same money you would pay for a cam anyway. Its also doubles as a media player via the USB. Actually plays MKVs and DIVX.
