    Hi,

I'm putting together a site to display info on the teams competing in this years WC. I usually follow this thread (without posting, sorry!) and I know that a lot of you use various sites and stats when ye are weighing up bets. I was just wondering if I could get a few pointers here on what information and statistics to include on the site to make it as helpful as possible. At the moment it will be just for the WC but later I may expand it to other less covered leagues, like those in South America if there is sufficient interest. All feedback on this would be greatly appreciated, no matter how negative! If you feel there would be no use for this website go ahead and say it - everyone's opinion is valued.

    Thanks,
    Michael.

If you could post team form from their last competitive matches (friendly's are a bit random to go on) and maybe the % goals scored in various sectors of the game (from both the team and players perspective) that would be useful, for me at least :)

Thanks guys, I'm working on the Algeria page at the moment so once I have a model for that one I'll fill out the others. I've included the items mentioned above. The link is http://www.rainbowkick.com/teams/algeria/ Any more suggestions would really be appreciated

Looks good mate, maybe you could include their qualifying group so people could judge them against other teams, also what about previous world cup appearances and how far they went in the tournament. You should probably include the manager on the team's page aswell

Could you include the altitude at all the venues?

Thanks again for the suggestions, I've now included the tournament history of the team, along with the current manager ,and the altitudes are now on the venues pages (there's nothing else there yet). Any more suggestions are welcome

Team selection of each of the qualifiers would be great

Something on top goalscorers would be very useful, Maybe a list of top scorers in the last couple of world cups, how many goals they got, and how far the country got.

The top scorers in the qualifying would be brilliant too.

Topscorers from previous World Cups are now up. I'll continue to work through the list of ideas but please keep adding any more that come to mind. I'm going to put up the qualifying stats soon - I'll try and include match reports showing line-ups, times of goals, % possession , substitutions.

Thanks again for all the input and well wishes :)

The corner markets are seriously exploitable but corner stats quite hard to come by. If you could find the international corner stats (competitive games only), that would be of great help to myself and others. cheers in advance if you can.

    www.soccerway.com

Another good site.... and i also use a site called www.zonalmarking.net

Although not a stats site as such, they give great reviews/reports on teams, players, tactics etc.. Good luck!

Qualification groups are up for Africa and Asia. I only posted the last round for them, if anybody wants the earlier rounds let me know and I will put them up. I skipped them as I'm trying to get the most useful information up first. I'm working on the European zone at the moment. Hopefully they'll all be up by this evening.

As regards the corner count I will look into obtaining the stats for each match. Maybe somebody can suggest how I should include this on the site. They will be contained in each match report but they could also be on the team page as well if that would be more beneficial. What form of corner stats would be useful? Avg. per game? Max/Min Number of Corners? Wouldn't the results be skewed if they played weak opponents in the qualifiers - any suggestions to combat this?

One very important factor in football betting (which many people do not consider) is managers head-to-head record.

Given that international managers, like club ones I guess, change fairly regularly, it's worth noting which managers have the edge over others.

Just because (For example) England play USA and should win the tie, the USA manager may have a great record against the England manager and is fully aware of how to set up his side to fustrate the opposition etc.

Always overlooked when it comes to betting on football but I can say it's helped me out fantastically over the last couple of seasons.
