Just a quick question, my GF is not european or american and were looking to head to L.A, were only staying a week before heading on to another country but is it true that she has to book a place in L.A in order to pass the interview in the embassy to get her visa?

Like do embassies not understand a person may want to travel around a country and may not want to book a place and be tied down??

She doesn't need to book, but it looks good if she has a hotel reservation for the first night, and also some idea where she wants to travel to (not hotels, but general areas)

I'd say the return / onward plane ticket is much more important than having accommodation arranged for the whole trip.

They also will want some address she'll be staying at while in the US so any hostel or hotel address will be fine. She'll be asked for that when she arrives into the country
