I for one want the bastard hung out to dry. He is really pissing me off this season. This whole vigilante sadistic thing just doesn't do if for me - probably because he is driven my the love for a dead woman....vomit.

I could perhaps stomach it if I thought he was really out for justice, or even love of his country, but this revenge thing is awful stuff. I really want the peace treaty to be signed, and for the president to go unscathed.

Ideally I would love a one on one showdown between the pres and Jack, with madam pres putting one between his two eyes - anyone think I'm gonna get my ending!?

How do you want it to end - jack winning or losing?

Considering theres gonna be a movie , id say its safe to assume he doesnt die.

But i like this whole vigilante stuff i like seeing him be more of the 'badguy'

Jack Bauer on a revenge mission is pretty much the most awesome tv ever produced. Episode 24 from season 1 and the last 6 or 7 episodes of this season was just complete unadulterated carnage.

So I want him to lose and than win and win as violently as possible.

I'd agree with this, the level of sadistic violence by Jack in the last 6 or 7 episodes has been epic. I had suspected Jack would finally die in the season 8 finale, as in total closure, but if a post Season 8 movie is planned, obviously he doesn't.

Jack's pretty extreme these last few episodes, but it's entertaining! So...I'd like to see him win!

The writing for Jack this season has been ridiculous. He has been guilty of straight up murder and torture and if he somehow resurfaces working for a Govenment agency and gets away with everything it will really change my opinion of what i thought was a great show. Wasn't a big fan of season 8 at all.

    Marshall Goren

    Nina Myers

    Christopher Henderson

I wouldn't say the writing has been ridiculous in fact I'm surprised Jack hasn't flipped sooner. Afer all he's been through??

He's done plenty of torture before, I don't really see how this is different to some of the other seasons

    Yeah!

Apart, maybe.. from the fact.. that he planned to murder the President of Russia.. and almost went through with it too..

    almost!

I think the writers wanted to show that there's only so much one person can take in their lifetime, regardless of their principles.

I don't think this was just a reaction to renee's death but more to the culmination of bad **** that has happened to Jack over the course of all these years. The losses he's endured - wife, friends, family, dignity. All the while knowing what the correct path was but with nobody listening to him. Personally i might have gone - well fcuk this they won't listen either this time i'll have to do it myself

Jack lost or at least he felt he lost. I don't think his vigilante revenge was just because of Renee's Death, it was because his job continued to chase him long after he felt he had left it behind. That - even when things had gone his way - they or it had still managed to kill or destroy everything he might have had in his life. The last few hours of the series just let Jack the man loose not Jack the CTU agent. Renee is just a reason but their is far more going on in Jack head.

Probably should have stopped watching when he shot someone in an interrogation room and cut off their head then.
